The Shaftebury Brewing Company started in Vancouver, British Columbia. 1995 THEY MOVED THE BREWERY TO DELTA, BC. Shaftebury was BOUGHT OUT BY OKANAGAN SPRING BREWING Sleeman Breweries. HERE YOU HAVE A SET OF 9 NEW CERAMIC HANDLES WITH NO DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, WHICH WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO GET THESE WITH OUT DAMAGE OR CRACKS. SEEING THEY NEVER MADE IT TO A WORKING ENVIRONMENT , I WAS FORTUNATE TO KNOW A SALESMAN THAT DECIDED TO PART WITH THEM IN 2009ISH. FEW OF THESE WERE RARE FROM SEASONAL BRANDS. THIS WILL BE A GREAT START TO A BEGINNING CERAMIC TAP HANDLE COLLECTION OR ADDITION/REPLACEMENT FOR ONES NOT SO NEW. I HAVE A NUMBER OF OTHER SHAFTEBURY’S BURIED SOMEWHERE. MANY OF THEM WITH FLAWS, AND SOME INFAMOUS ONES LIKE TWO HEADED HANDLE, REGGAE HANDLE. SOME ORIGINALS THAT WERE SMALLER AND HAD A DIFFERENT KIND OF CERAMIC/GLAZE, AND EVEN MORE FRAGILE! KEEP ME IN FAVORITES. AMAZED ME THAT SO MANY OF THESE VERY CREATIVE, DETAILED STYLE OF HANDLES WERE PRODUCED FOR A BUSINESS THAT WOULD ABUSE THE HECK OUT OF THEM DURING AN INSURMOUNTABLE AMOUNT OF DAILY POURS, AND IF THE KEG IS CHANGED OUT, THE TAP GETS TOSSED TO THE SIDE FOR FUTUR USE. MAKING COLLECTING BEER TAP HANDLES EVEN MORE COMPELLING!! I have thousands of Handles, Pints, Towels and Coasters, Bottles, Trays, Brewing collectibles; from prohibition to 2010. Many rare, unique items, short run items, prototype items, brewery sets and collectibles. I have found the history on many items, especially the unique handmade items that I happened upon. A number of artists are acquaintances of mine, for we met through my compulsive desire to build this collection. NOTE: CERAMIC FRACTURES THAT ARE CREATED FROM THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS: WHEN THE INSERT IS EPOXIED IN, THE CURING EPOXY EXPANDS AND PUTS PRESSURE ON THE CERAMIC, IF THERE IS A WEAK AREA IN THE CERAMIC IT WILL SPLIT AND FRACTURE. REASON WHY LOT OF CERAMICS HAVE THESE FRACTURES STARTING UP FROM THE INSERT. Note: FOR MANY NEW, SMALL SCALE, LOW VOLUME BREWERIES THAT ARE TRYING TO BE SUCCESSFUL, DID NOT WANT TO SPEND LIMITED FUNDS ON HANDLES, LOGO-ED PINTS AND SUCH. A NUMBER OF THEM PRODUCED THEIR OWN TAP HANDLES, OR USED LOCAL ARTISTS TO CREATE THEM???? MAKING MANY OF THESE RARE AND LIMITED ONE OF KIND HANDLES…. I know the rarity of many of these items and will not budge from my price unless there is a reasonable offer. I have a friend and fellow rugger who owns his own brew pub here in Port Orchard and he had put in a hard plea for my tap handles; as well, a few other pubs that all have handles hanging from their ceiling would take any handle I give them. After a number of tries to list the majority of these items (to be available to the mass of Breweriana Collectors at any given time and listing combinations) and they do not sell, they will go to them.
