Vintage 1990′s Budweiser Clydesdale Horse head. Let’s call this one Team leader; Mark. Tap is listed as used. It has never been used or poured a beer. It was part of a large collection and was previously on display. It remains in excellent condition and shows no wear. There are some small gold/copper marks that appear to be highlights and patina and not damage except maybe the small mark on the neck between the second and 3rd nub. Hard to be sure. Like a show winner at the Kentucky Derby. I have owned several and they all look slightly different. Hard to install on an inline service because it is wide and won’t spin around. When these get used in a service setting the first thing to go is one of the nubs on the mane. Anheuser Busch made several versions of unique animal taps from the early to mid 1990′s up until the early 2000′s when they tried to market the craft scene with the Shock Top guy who started another era of cool collectible taps. Early versions were high quality and made with a heavy resin material and a more real like wood base with Budweiser in beautiful white script. They later switched to a cheaper lightweight material with paper labels. Mostly animals and sports themed. CLYDESDALE FACTS: They have been a live part of Anheuser Busch advertising since 1933 to celebrate the end of prohibition. Each horse must meet specific criteria to become a member of the wagon pulling team including gender, temperament, size, weight, age and color including 4 stocking white feet. It takes 8 to pull a wagon but they use 10 in case an issue arises. 4 year old minimum. Average 2000 plus pounds. A recent PETA protest has made Budweiser stop “docking” horses tails as of 2024 due to it being inhumane to the animals. Tap has been turned and rotated so that all.
