RARE BLUE FROG GROG AND GRILL HOP FROG HOST PRINCE Draft beer tap handle. Opening from 1999 to 2013. Acquired by Fuddruckers and remodeled. Supposedly they were going to keep a few Blue Grog beers in their line-up… The Blue Frog name was inspired by the folk trio Peter, Paula and Mary’s song; I’m In Love With A Big Blue Frog. Name is “HOPS”, and he is called the Host Prince. A 3-foot tall, 300-pound bronze statue of Hops sat in the brew pubs lobby. Dripping red paint on back. Displayed for a short time then stored professionally. Please view all photos as they are the best part of the description. Last few pictures show the 2 that I still have and the 300-pound statue I was talking about. A Fat and bloated Blue Frog with a tiny gold crown on his head sitting on a lily pad in the pond. Blue Frog graphics overhead done in yellow on a blue ribbon. Another ribbon below would hold the beers flavor. The base and back are done fire red. Never seen one with a label. Finely sculpted piece of art done by Gary Price in the early 2000′s. Rare collector’s item. Tap handle has been turned and rotated so all sides are pictured. The Budweiser amphibian campaign came out during Super Bowl XXIX Chargers vs. 49er’s in 1995. Bud and Gecko’s first appearance. Three fat frog’s name “BUD”, “WEIS” and “ER”. Bud frog on a Bud bottle.
